Fear not, though! Instructables user has found a simple solution that will quickly cut down the cost of your backyard barbecuing. With these easy steps, there’s no reason you can’t set up your own cost-effective grill this weekend!

collected nearly 40 stones from around her farm (these are from an old barn’s foundation) to serve as the structure for the grill. You’ll also need a metal grate and some charcoal or firewood.

Begin assembling a U-shaped pit.

Keep stacking until the pit is roughly two feet tall.

You may need to chisel some of the rocks to ensure that they fit perfectly together.

After the pit is secured, add a few rocks to the center as a placeholder for charcoal or firewood.

Cut your grate to the size of the pit and affix it by adding another layer of rocks to the top.

Add some charcoal or firewood and there you have it!
